Construction of the city began in 2023, and the first buildings have already been erected. To realize large-scale plans, 19,700 hectares of land have been allocated in Yuqorichirchiq and Urtachirchiq districts. The project concept was developed by the British company Cross Works.
At the first stage, construction has unfolded on a territory of 6,000 hectares, where modern living conditions for 600,000 people will be created. In the long term, the city is designed to accommodate 2 million residents. These figures clearly illustrate the scale of the project. Therefore, special attention is being paid to the quality and durability of the infrastructure. Underground engineering communications are actively being built: collectors for heating and water supply pipelines, power grids, and telecommunications. Tunnels and underground parking facilities are also being constructed to ensure convenient traffic flow.
Each project is designed with a focus on modern and eco-friendly solutions. The city will implement environmentally friendly transport, with integration between the metro and electric buses. Comfortable and safe conditions are being created for pedestrians and cyclists.
In the administrative zone, more than 60 buildings are planned for government agencies. Already, over ten ministries and departments have begun operations in temporary facilities within New Tashkent.
The President was also presented with short-term development plans. Many domestic and foreign investors have shown strong interest in the project. Following the results of auctions, investment agreements worth $554 million have already been signed for 13 commercial lots. Hotels, restaurants, and architecturally distinctive buildings will appear here, providing not only high-quality services but also transforming the city into a new center of tourism.
Construction will employ 160,000 people, and in the future, the city will generate hundreds of thousands of permanent jobs based on innovative technologies. To this end, plans include the development of educational and medical clusters, IT services, and technology parks.
The Head of State gave recommendations on attracting investments, as well as on creating comfortable recreational areas and service facilities.
